SMT Technician / PCB Assembly (Team Lead Opportunity)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay: $25 – $30 per hour (based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on SMT / PCB Assembly Technician to step into a working Team Leader role.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced assembler who is ready to grow into leadership. You will remain actively involved in PCB assembly while helping guide production, support the team, and coordinate workflow across departments.

This is a hands-on role with leadership responsibilities – not a supervisory desk position.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly & Production (Primary Focus)

  • Perform SMT and through-hole PCB assembly
  • Hand soldering, rework, and touch-up
  • Inspect assemblies to IPC-A-610 Class II standards
  • Support SMT processes including placement and reflow
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues

Team Leadership

  • Act as a working team leader on the production floor
  • Guide daily activities and priorities
  • Assist with training and onboarding
  • Reinforce quality standards

Production Coordination

  • Assist with scheduling and prioritizing builds
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Engineering, and Operations
  • Ensure jobs are staged and ready for production

 

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of PCB assembly experience (SMT and through-hole)
  • Strong hand soldering and rework skills
  • Ability to read assembly drawings, schematics, and BOMs
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 Class II standards
  • Basic computer skills (Excel and Word)

Preferred

  • IPC-A-610 certification
  • Experience supporting or training other assemblers
