Introducing Battery Powered Wi-Fi Clocks

Thursday, September 15, 2016

NATIONAL TIME has leveraged its century of experience and history of technological advancements to set the industry’s new benchmark for WiFi clocks. The TIMEWiSE™ clock’s lowest power consumption, easy setup tools and monitoring capabilities will change the perception of battery powered WiFi clocks.

WiFi Network Connection. Rather than creating a radio frequency spectrum competing RF system of transmitters and repeaters with unpredictable results, WiFi based clocks leverage your initial or previous investment in your building’s existing network infrastructure. This WiFi based system allows technicians and support staff to use familiar diagnostic tools, equipment and training that proprietary RF systems don’t offer. National’s battery clocks connect to 802.11b/g/n WiFi using WPA, WPA2, and open networks. They support DHCP to ease setup effort and utilize SNTP services for time accuracy.

Monitoring Capabilities. Unlike most RF battery systems and competing WiFi clocks, National’s WiFi connection provides two-way communication. Not only can the connection status to the time service be monitored, so can the WiFi signal level, time synchronization check-in history, battery voltage and other settings. National’s exclusive TIMEWiSE Cloud Service provides these statistics to any PC or hand-held device with an internet connection. Take control and be proactive with your time system rather that wait for complaints from occupants that the clock is off time.

Easy Setup. Only National Time offers the RappID Setup tool available for smart phones and tablets. Configuring the clocks for connection to your network could not be easier. This app will scan for nearby clocks, automatically download required settings, and verify connection to the selected SNTP time server. Just run the app on your phone in your pocket, install the batteries, hang the clock, and walk away with confidence that the clock is connected and on time.

Low Power Consumption. National Time’s battery WiFi clock is designed to use standard AA size batteries. When using Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries the life expectancy is 2.5 years. The movement can also operate using standard Alkaline batteries such as Duracell Quantum with a life expectancy of 2 years. The movement is also offered in a four battery version (-4B) which doubles the life expectancy to 5 years.

Each clock is equipped with an all metal case and white polystyrene dial having black markings and hands. Cases are attractively finished in Powder Gray enamel. Other finishes and glass or shatterproof lens are available upon request. Shatterproof lens is standard on 12” round. A plastic ABS case with glass lens is available for the 12” round clock.
